I really like this site, there is generally so much to see and is only a short swim out from the beach. Both wrecks can be seen quite clearly on googlemaps. Being my first post about this site, I will provide a little history on the vessels.

The Ozone was a paddlesteamer that used to take day trippers around Port Phillip Bay between 1886 - 1925. It was stripped and sunk to form a breakwater at Indented Head. It didn't sink in it's intended location but blown inshore with a strong wind and settled in shallower water. Here's a link to more info.

The Dominion was a barque. I can't find a lot about this vessel but in its later years was used as a coal lighter around Port Phillip before bought to be sunk along with the Ozone to form a breakwater. It was set on fire by vandals and sunk in its present position.

We swam out passed the wrecks to start with today to check out the sea grass meadows and hopefully spot some pipefish. There wasn't much life about but we did find a few pipefish (which I had never seen before), we also stumbled across the second anchor for the Ozone which must have been used during the sinking. The other one is on the hill as a monument.

We finished the dive on the wreck, although it was difficult because by this time a group of snorkelers were there stirring things up.
